What Shall I Do With Him?

Posted: August 3, 2011 in Articles, What Shall I Do With Him?

“What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” Pilate asked them.
—Mark 15:12

Every moment of every day you have a choice: “What shall I do with him?” You wake up and you have the choice: praise him for another day or busily get on with your day. What shall you do with him? You get in the shower and you have a choice: consider him and what he has done and continues to do for you at the right hand of God or worry over every other little thing in your life. What shall you do with him? You get out of the shower and you have a choice: thank him for the clothing he’s provided for you or think about the big clothing sale down at Kohl’s. What shall you do with him?….

I think you get the picture. Every moment of every day we’re given a great gift: a reminder of what Christ means in our lives. We choose to embrace it or we choose to let it fade away like mist. Today, don’t waste this wonderful gift. Pause over every decision, over every personal encounter, over every meal, over every stray thought, over every trial, over every worry, over every whispered prayer and give thanks to the one who made you, for the one who continually saves you. Give him his just due and recognition in every one of life’s moments and you’re on your way to giving him rule over your life.
